buried since president obama took office. >> this is deadly ernst. how they can justify raising taxes to the middle class has been buried for the last 4 years. how in the lord's name can they justify it? >> now instead of focusing solely on tonight's denver the obama campaign is doing damage control even though the vice president changed had. some of the harm done once to the strong middle class republicans are taking the comments and running with it. >> vice president biden just today said that the middle class
over the last four years have been quote buried. we agree. stop digging bile electing mitt romney the next president of the united states. the obama campaign is calling that an out of context attack. the numbers they say mr. biden buried line including that that reflect high unemployment rising debt and smaller paychecks over the last four years. >> newt gingrich is talking about. >> newt beginnihe went on the r what he has to do. it is a clear-cut situation.
romney has to be clear and factual and stick to his grounds. he has to recognize he's up against the incumbent president of the united states. rom hee will t romney will try r call him. romney is going to have to communicate past layer and past obama to reach the american people. if he does that i think he could have a very good night and you could see a very good race by thursday morning. >> later in the show you are going to hear from romney's former debate coach who is with him during the primary. oo tonight's debate is exactly what we would like to hear from you on today. what would you like to hear from the candidates tonight? send your comments over to us. tweet them to us at
firstname.lastname@example.org. >> those are the top stories making news at this hour. we know the identity of the border patrol agent shot dead trying to protect our border. nicholas ivy was 30 years old from utah. he leaves behind a wife and two children. avery and another agent were shot. that is an area known for drug smuggling. >> the agent died in the line of duty protecting our nation against those who threaten our way of life. his death strengthens our resolve to bring those responsible to justice. >> the guns linked the fast and
furious operation were found where he was murdered. he was the last border patrol agent who was shot dead before ivy. a judge blocked pennsylvania effort to fight voter fraud. all voters show photo id. critics many democrats claim it would disenfranchise line momin. he expected more photo id's to be issued at this time. the remaining five weeks before the election the gap between the photo id's issued and the estimated need will not be closed. some supporters say the ruling shows a clear double standard. >> obama had a rally if you had to have a photo id to go to his rally. if it is good enough for his rally why not here. >> american airlines is now blaming clamps they say were installed incorrectly for the seats popping lose during three
different flights since late last week. the airline is now inspecting other airplanes that use the very same clamps. 36 have been checked so far, 4 needed to be fixed 11 more planes still need to be inspected. the clamps were installed incorrectly during maintenance work by employees and contractors. there has been speculation the problems may have been the result of sabotage related to a bunch of ongoing labor disputes between the company and the union. but the airline ruling that one out. another dead end in the search for jimmy hoffa's remains. michigan police say they didn't find human remains under a shed in roseville. police took soil samples last week after a tip from a man on his death bed. he claimed he saw a body being buried at the house in 1975. hoffa disappeared from a parking lot near detroit. have have been several tips over

attempt to improve security there the state department contract officer actually shut that down. steven haze who is also a fox news contributor spoke about the seriousness of the developments last night on special report. listen to this. >> it is significant. we find more and more details coming out that are problematic for the situation and suggest we aren't getting the entire story from the outset. you had susan rice and others who are suggesting that the consulate was as well secured as it could have been not only security contractors on the ground providing security for the building itself but many members. made it sound like a big team. it appears that's not the case. we learned two other things in the past 36 hours that present additional problems. we have heard about this telephone intercept between al qaeda linked groups about the attack. we know that phone call took place immediately after the
attack and the administration had access quickly after the attack. the question is, if they knew that if they had access to that information so quickly after the attack why wouldn't it shared with the american people? the commander the top general in africa who oversees this, carter han told reporters in july that the united states hadn't done nearly enough to brave the growing threat from al qaeda in libya he was saying that back in july it should have been raising alarm bells at the time. >> members of the government reform committee claimed multiple pleas were denied by the u.s. government. they sent a letter to hillary clinton demanding answers. they are also hearing next week. jason will be joining fox and friends today at 8:50. you will want to hear that one. it is time for the first degree weather update from maria molina

york city to rebuild on test own. forget the dollar you have to put in. that's the right thing to do. what's happening in new orleans? where is your dollar? where is your stafford act money? makes no sense. tells me the bullet hasn't been taken out. tells me somehow the people down in new orleans they don't care about as much. >> as we mentioned earlier the daily caller obtained the video. fox news contributor and chief of the web site carlson was on "hannity" last night to discuss what you saw. >> the first thing will jump off the screen at you this is not the barack obama you have watched for the last 10 years he is whipping up race, trahatred fear. >> how would you classify the comments? racial? >> of course i would. i absolutely would. if a white politician got up in front of a white audience here's what you should know about black people they don't like you they are in charge and they are

>> i think you are absolutely right. while the challenger gets elevated by being on the stage with the president clearly the president is on the mountain top. he won the last set of debates. there has to be a compelling reason for change. governor romney has the burden of proof. >> you prepped john mccain for his debate with barack obama. mccain held his own but didn't bring the debate to the president mccain never brought it to him. this guy doesn't know what he is talking about he is talking in generalities but that didn't get through to the electorate who liked obama and still likes obama. >> that is one of the reasons he has to go on offense. >> we will see tonight. coverage starts at 8:55 eastern time with megan kelly and bret baier. they will be live from denver.
